So, you want to start your own member society? Not so fast my friend! There are a few things you should know before you start taking in the membership fee. 
How does the society system work?
You start a new thread in this board, requesting that a society be added. You outline what sort of things the society will discuss or do, say whether or not a password will be required to enter, and give some other basic information (see the form in the next post of this thread). Then I read it and create a sub board for your society!
Can I start a society for anything?
Pretty much. Your society can be as random as you like. Provided you can dream it up and think people would join in, feel free. Oh, as long as it doesn't breach Proboards TOS that is.
Can I have more than one society?
You can create a second society when you reach 1000 posts.
Getting rid of my society...
If you are the only member of your society, you can request for it to be deleted, and that will be done. But if there are other members in your society, they can volunteer to take on leadership of the society and the sub board will stay open.

- You join a society by applying to the founder of that society, whose name will be displayed by their sub board.
- If the society founder chooses not to accept you, then so be it. It's their party (anyway, you can get your own back by declining them from your club)!
